If you ask any seasoned filmmaker to shoot across 13 states and 3,000+ miles over 21 days with an antique car, they would tell you that you are crazy! However, one year ago, we did just that to create our newest film, POLARA.
POLARA is a coming-of-age story about a young man’s cross-country journey to reconnect with his estranged father. Along the way he uncovers mysteries of friendship, family, trust, and what secrets are enclosed in the sealed container in the trunk.
To make this film, we traveled across the country 3 times – one to scout, one to shoot, and a final trip for pickups and to return the vehicle back to the east coast.

The challenges we faced included filming during a pandemic, skyrocketing gas prices, and even being robbed at gunpoint! However daunting, this project also brought out the best in our entire cast and crew and we had an amazing adventure! We are so excited to share this touching story alongside the beautiful footage of the open road with you soon.

About POLARA: On TJ’s 18th birthday, a stranger delivers him a key from his father, last seen as he was hauled off to prison 8 years previously. With the key is the address for a proposed meeting - 3000 miles away and in two weeks. The key unlocks a timeworn 1968 convertible, with a coffin welded to its floor. With each decision that follows, TJ plunges deeper into the mysterious and beautiful landscapes we all navigate – on our own, with our tribe, through the shifting turns of the road ahead.
