Chaysen Beacham made his feature film directorial debut with What We Find on the Road with a challenging road trip story. With a coast-to-coast tale, the production days and logistics may prove to be difficult even for the most experienced director in the industry.

The film stars Finn Haney (Where the Devil Roams, Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre) as the central character TJ, who drives from the East Coast to California. The film also stars William Chris Sumpter (Goosebumps, NYC Dreams), Katherine Laheen (She Said, WeCrashed), Ross Partridge (Stranger Things, Lamb), and Paul Guilfoyle (L.A. Confidential, Air Force One).

Beacham directed the movie from the screenplay written by Bill Haney.

Here is the film’s description:

On his 18th birthday, TJ receives a key from his estranged ex-con father, unlocking a timeworn ’68 convertible and a challenge to drive across America—in hopes of repairing his family. Supported by a band of loveable oddballs and held together by humor and grit, TJ discovers that sometimes the longest road is the fastest way to home.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta talked with director Chaysen Beacham about his directorial debut with this road trip production. He discussed the vehicle used and the process of organizing film dates for the cast.

Chaysen Beacham worked in various capacities on television projects for the BBC, ITV, Discovery Channel, and History Channel. Since 2017, he has focused on narrative features, including streaming titles with The Outsider, The Call, and Murder, Anyone?

What We Find on the Road streams on Tuesday, November 12.
